A clarifying shampoo does something regular shampoo doesn't: it removes the layer of product residue, hard water minerals, and excess sebum that accumulates between washes and that standard surfactants can't fully clear. Charcoal draws out deeper impurities while salicylic acid breaks down the sebum and buildup blocking the follicles. The Magnet is for weekly or fortnightly use as the reset step, not every wash. Daily use will strip the scalp. Use it once a week, then maintain with The Defender or The Spark for everyday cleansing.

1. Use once a week or fortnightly, not every wash.
2. Apply to wet hair and scalp. Massage into the scalp first, then work through the lengths.
3. Leave for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the charcoal and salicylic acid to work.
4. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner on the lengths and ends.

Both target scalp buildup but in different formats. Bye Bye Build Up is a pre-shampoo treatment applied before shampooing for more targeted exfoliation. The Magnet is the shampoo itself. Use with caution. Clarifying shampoos clear more than a regular shampoo, which can strip colour faster. If your hair is colour-treated, limit to once every two to three weeks and always condition thoroughly afterwards.
