A formulary is a list of approved medicines.
Ours is a list of approved skincare.
Who Is Making These Decisions
Every product on Phare is selected by Dr. Laura, GP with a special interest in skin and Clinical Director of Dr. Laura Clinic.
Dr. Laura brings a clinician's eye to every product on the site, not a marketer's. She selects products because they work, not because they are trending, beautifully packaged, or well-funded.
Alongside her own clinical assessment, products are tested on Dr. Laura's own skin, introduced in clinic, and evaluated on real patients over time.
How a Product Earns Its Place
Every product considered for Phare passes three stages. There are no exceptions.
The Clinical Screen
Does the formulation hold up? Does the product address a real skin need with evidence-based ingredients at effective concentrations? Does it integrate logically into how people actually build a skincare routine? If the science doesn't stack up, the conversation ends here.
Real World Validation
A product that looks good on paper still has to prove itself in practice. We test on our own skin. We introduce it in clinic and observe how it performs on real patients over time. This stage can take weeks or months. There is no shortcut.
Accessible Excellence
Great skin should not require an unlimited budget. The Phare Formulary spans a considered range of price points. A product must earn its price. A higher price does not automatically mean a better product.
Phare Approved
Every product that passes all three stages carries the Phare Approved mark. It means the product has been screened, tested, and validated by a clinician — and that we stand behind it.
Phare exists because great skincare should not require guesswork.
The Phare Formulary is our promise that it never will.
