The Dr. Laura Clinic team is looking for a Skin & Laser Therapist to join us on a 12-month maternity cover contract, with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent role.
We're a busy Mon-Fri clinic in Galway, led by GP Dr. Laura Lenihan, with a focus on medical-grade skincare, advanced laser, and aesthetic treatments. You'd be joining a small, close-knit team (clinical, aesthetic and front-of-house) who genuinely love what they do.
What you'll do:
Patient care and treatments- Deliver skin and laser treatments including IPL (Sciton BBL), LaseMD Ultra, Laser Genesis, laser hair removal, peels, medical-grade facials, radiofrequency microneedling, and SkinPen microneedling
- Maintain accurate patient records, consent forms, and detailed treatment documentation (products purchased, medications prescribed, complaints, educational notes, personalised skincare regimens)
- Coordinate patient care with Dr. Laura, including topical medications, pre- and post-treatment care, and patient compliance
- Work with Dr. Laura to develop and maintain post-injectable skincare regimens
- Keep the treatment room and equipment looking and feeling comfortable, clean and professional
Promotion and marketing
- Work with the clinic manager on promotions and marketing plans
- Recommend and promote skincare products and laser treatments where appropriate
- Identify opportunities to expand our skincare and treatment offering
- Get involved in events, focus groups, seminars, community presentations, social media and advertising
Other
- Manage product inventory and submit new product orders to the manager
- Suggest new skincare lines for the clinic to stock
- Help with stock maintenance levels and our online store / orders
- Cover reception/front desk when needed
- Take on other tasks as assigned by the clinical director
What we're looking for
- Relevant qualifications, ideally ITEC, CIBTAC, CIDESCO, or NVQ Level 3 or above (or equivalent). Nurses with relevant aesthetic experience also encouraged to apply
- Experience in a similar clinical or aesthetic setting
- Laser experience, ideally with Sciton BBL or equivalent IPL platforms
- Practical experience with microneedling and radiofrequency microneedling
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A real passion for skin and delivering visible results
- Strong interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues
- Proactive, hard-working, and willing to learn
- Professional, friendly, and great with clients
Desirable
- Experience with the medical-grade skincare brands we stock: Obagi, SkinCeuticals and SkinBetter Science
- Practical experience with Hydrafacial
Additional training will be provided as required, and we place a strong emphasis on continuing education in skincare.
