DOES YOUR BARRIER NEED A RESET?
A barrier reset is worth considering if you're experiencing any of these:
WHAT IS A BARRIER RESET?
A barrier reset is a short period (typically one to three weeks) where you shift the focus away from active ingredients and towards supporting the skin itself.
The goal isn't to treat anything. It's to reduce irritation, restore hydration, and let the skin return to a stable state. Not doing more. Doing less, more intentionally.
YOUR RESET ROUTINE AT A GLANCE
WHAT TO EXPECT (AND WHEN TO REINTRODUCE ACTIVES)
DAYS 3-5: Skin should start to feel calmer and less reactive. Stinging on application typically reduces first.
WEEK 1-2: Hydration and texture begin to improve. Redness and sensitivity should be noticeably reduced.
WEEK 2-3: Skin feels stable. This is when you can consider reintroducing the first active, one at a time, slowly.
Start with a retinoid once or twice a week, or reintroduce exfoliation at a lower frequency than before. Don't return to the same level of intensity too quickly.
