A noticeable difference is usually visible after 2 to 3 uses, with a deeper colour building over 4 to 5 days of daily application. Apply every day for maximum depth, or every other day to maintain a moderate glow.

Gradual formulas are more forgiving than full self-tanners, but with a higher DHA concentration, even application is more important. Exfoliating beforehand and applying in circular motions reduces patchiness. Apply lightly to elbows, knees and ankles.

Freshly shaved skin is more sensitive and open follicles absorb DHA unevenly, which can create a dotted or streaky result. Waiting 24 hours allows the skin to settle.
