Why It's Phare Approved

Nails are more porous than people realise, and the chemicals in traditional polish absorb through the nail bed and surrounding skin every time you wear them. Add years of gel or BIAB on top, and most people's nails are weaker than they think. Manucurist makes one of the few plant-based polishes that holds up cosmetically while treating the nail, with cranberry extract for the tint and its antioxidants. It's what I wear when I want polished hands, and what I stock for patients moving away from gel.

1. Apply to clean, dry nails with no oil or moisturiser on them.
2. Sweep one thin coat from cuticle to tip, then wait two minutes to dry.
3. Apply a second coat for fuller colour, or leave at one for a more natural finish.
4. Touch up whenever it needs a refresh. For longer wear, use with a base and top coat from the Manucurist range.

Both. The polish contains cranberry extract and antioxidants that support the nail as it sits on it, and the formula is light enough to let the nail breathe rather than seal it under thick layers. It won't transform weak nails overnight, but with regular wear you'll see them gradually look healthier and stronger.
It won't last two weeks like gel, but it holds up better than most regular polishes. Expect three to five days of solid wear with a top coat. The trade-off is no UV damage, no nail thinning from removal, and your nails repairing rather than degrading underneath.
It's a real difference. The petroleum-based ingredients in standard polish are linked to nail thinning and absorption through the nail bed. Replacing them with bio-sourced alternatives reduces both. It's not perfect (nothing is 100% plant-based), but at 85.5% it's one of the highest in the category.
Not essential, but worth it if you want longer wear. The polish works on its own and you'll get a few days of wear, but a base coat prevents tinting on lighter natural nails, and a top coat extends the wear and adds shine. Manucurist makes both in the same plant-based range.
