Chemical — the active UV filters are Ethylhexyl Triazone, Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid (Mexoryl SX), Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S) and Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus). These are all well-tolerated, highly photostable Korean and European approved chemical filters. Free from Oxybenzone and Octinoxate — reef-safe.
The fermented Centella Asiatica complex in this formula contains three types of fermented Centella extract — Centella Asiatica Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, and Centella Asiatica Extract — alongside isolated active compounds Asiaticoside and Madecassoside. Fermentation breaks the Centella compounds into smaller molecules for better skin penetration and enhanced anti-inflammatory efficacy compared to non-fermented Centella. The fermentation process also produces additional beneficial metabolites that support the skin's microbiome.
The formula includes Hyaluronic Acid molecules of different sizes and modifications — including Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Potassium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer and Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate among others. Different molecular sizes penetrate to different skin depths — larger molecules sit on the surface to seal moisture, smaller molecules penetrate deeper to hydrate from within. Together they provide what Tocobo describe as 10-layer deep hydration covering multiple skin depths simultaneously.
