Most body exfoliators feel good during use and then leave skin tight and stripped, which defeats the purpose of the conditioning ingredients inside. Dove's body scrub avoids this by building the exfoliation into a formula that's predominantly moisturising cream: hydrated silica provides the texture, and the Macadamia and Rice Bran Oils condition the skin as it's being worked. The result is soft skin without the dryness. It's also the right prep step for any gradual tan, used 24 hours beforehand on clean skin to give the DHA an even surface to work on.

In the shower or bath, scoop a generous amount with your hand. Spread all over the body in circular motions and rinse thoroughly. Use 3 to 4 times per week. For best self-tan results, use this scrub 24 hours before applying any gradual tan to ensure an even, smooth base. Avoid contact with eyes.

3 to 4 times per week is the recommended frequency for this formula. More than that risks over-exfoliating, which can lead to sensitivity and dryness. Less frequently is fine for maintenance.
No — the ¼ moisturising cream built into the formula means skin is being nourished while it's exfoliated. Most people find they can skip a separate body lotion step immediately after using this, though applying one afterwards is still beneficial for very dry skin.
The exfoliation is moderate rather than aggressive, and the formula uses naturally derived, sulfate SLES-free cleansers. However, it does contain fragrance and several fragrance allergens including Limonene, Linalool and Coumarin. If your skin is very fragrance-sensitive, patch test first.
