EVENT RECAP | FEB 2026

THE YOU FIRST AFFAIR

After months of planning, our first ever You First Affair couldn't have gone better - in case you missed it, here's how it went!

MY WHY

The idea for The You First Affair was born after I started my personal training journey in 2025. It didn't take long for me to realise that taking time for myself every week was really transformative for me - I felt better in my body, I was a better mother and wife, and I finally understood the importance of putting myself first sometimes.

I wanted to show other women that investing in yourself first will help you show up better for the other people in your life who need you. So, I reached out to some other fabulous women who I knew could help me spread this message and got to work planning the event.

After this first event, I know I've created something meaningful here - bringing women together, empowering them to put themselves first and showing them how exactly to do it!

OUR SPEAKERS

Myself: speaking all things skin, focusing on changes in the skin as we age and how to feel confident in the skin we're in.

Saffron Cull: Personal stylist and colour analyst focusing on how to choose fashion that compliments our colours and features.

Nancy Costello: Owner of The Belle Brush and Belle Hair, educating on hair care and ways to enhance your hair to feel your best.

Iza Clarke: My personal trainer who focuses on empowering busy women to find strength, balance and health through nutrition and exercise.

Dr. Sarah Cahill: founder of LifeCycle Women's Health Clinic, sharing medical insight into all things menopause and how to navigate it while feeling like yourself.

From skincare recommendations to colour analysis demos to throwing hairbrushes into the crowd, we wanted the event to be fun but also educational and empowering.

Each speaker brought something unique to the stage, and our attendees couldn't get enough.

After a quick break and some skincare shopping, we picked things back up with a Women's Health Panel and Q&A session.

Although I was nervous we wouldn't get any questions, I was delighted that the crowd was bursting with questions for each of our speakers. We covered everything from menopause to looking after curly hair to dealing with redness, shopping for clothes and exercising as part of a busy lifestyle.

Supporting Local Women's Shelter

It was a no brainer for me to use this event as an opportunity to raise funds for a charity that I know also supports women - COPE Galway and their women's shelter Modh Eile.

I decided to contact some local business who might be willing to sponsor a prize for a raffle and I was blown away by the response. We have over 20 amazing prizes worth almost €4,000 which helped us raise over €1,600 on the night for COPE.

We also reached out to some of our fabulous brands at Phare who were more than happy to supply some skincare goodies for our attendees - it was so lovely to see everyone going through what they got on the night to get a feel for what we offer at Phare and the Clinic!

THE VENUE

We hosted The You First Affair at the Salthill Hotel, close to home for our first event - and the team couldn't have done more for us. The setting was perfect, and it was great to have another local business involved.

I'm now on the hunt for other hotels/venues where I could host this event later in the year and in the future. Got any ideas? Head over to my Instagram and let me know!
