Brushing is one of the most common, and most overlooked, causes of hair breakage. Standard brushes concentrate all the tension at individual knots, which is what causes snapping. The dual bristle design on The Original distributes that tension more evenly across the hair shaft, so knots release rather than break. I use this myself and it's the first thing I recommend to patients who mention breakage.

1. Start at the ends, not the roots. Hold the hair above the section you're working through to reduce tension at the scalp.
2. Work upwards in short strokes from the ends, freeing knots gradually before moving higher.
3. Once the ends are clear, brush through from roots to ends in longer, smoother passes.
4. For wet hair, section first and work each section from ends to roots before styling.
5. Remove trapped hair from the bristles after each use. Clean weekly by rinsing with warm soapy water, then leave bristle-side down to air dry.
